The Karsten Company can be traced back to 1965 although it was offical established as the company we know today in 1995. The three managing partners of the Karsten Company have over 100 years of combined experience in the manufactured housing industry, mostly with Golden West Homes.
In June of 1995, when Oakwood Homes decided to sell or close the Sacramento facility, the existing management, along with other top management from Golden West, seized the opportunity! A little known fact concerning Golden West Homes is that it was owned by the Karsten Company prior to the Oakwood Homes purchase; thus in keeping with tradition, we assumed the name. The same values learned at Golden West were adapted and made successful at the Karsten Company.
